Whether you’re furnishing a new apartment, replacing a broken sofa, or hosting guests this weekend, same day couch delivery can be a lifesaver. But not all retailers offer true same-day service—some promise “fast shipping” that still takes 2–3 days. In this guide, we break down the best options for express sofa delivery, from national chains with local warehouses to on-demand services that bring your couch within hours.
Before you order, make sure your new sofa will fit through your door. Our fitting a couch through a door guide helps you avoid delivery day surprises. If you’re considering a sleeper, check out our compact sleeper sofa recommendations for space-saving options that ship quickly.

Which Couch Types Are Available for Same-Day Delivery?
Not every sofa is available for same-day shipping. Generally, lighter and more compact designs are easier to deliver quickly. Here’s what you can typically get delivered today:
- Loveseats & apartment sofas – smaller footprint, easier to handle.
- Futons & sleeper sofas – often in stock at local warehouses.
- Sectional pieces – some modular sectionals can be delivered in boxes quickly.
- Reclining sofas – may be heavier, but available if in local inventory.
For pet-friendly options, see our pet-friendly couch guide. If you need a sofa that’s durable for kids and pets, we recommend durable living room furniture that holds up well even with express delivery.
How Much Does Same-Day Couch Delivery Cost?
Typical range: $50 – $200 for same-day delivery, depending on distance, sofa size, and assembly.
Many retailers offer free shipping on orders over a certain amount, but expedited delivery usually comes with a fee. Premium white-glove service (including packaging removal and placement) can cost $100–$250 extra. Always confirm the total cost at checkout—some stores hide “fuel surcharges” or “peak hour fees.”
⚖️ Pros & Cons of Same-Day Couch Delivery
- Immediate comfort – no waiting days or weeks.
- Perfect for urgent moves or guest arrivals.
- Often includes tracking and time windows.
- Higher delivery fees compared to standard shipping.
- Limited selection – only in-stock items qualify.
- Potential for damage if not handled carefully.
What If You Can’t Find Same-Day Delivery?
If same-day delivery isn’t available in your area, consider rent-to-own furniture services that offer immediate pickup or delivery within 24 hours. Some companies even provide temporary couches while you wait for your custom order. You can also check local marketplaces for secondhand market options that you can pick up today.
For those who need a sofa immediately, we recommend calling local stores directly—many hold inventory that isn’t listed online. Ask if they offer same-day delivery and whether assembly is included. Our I want to buy a couch guide has more tips for making a quick, informed purchase.
